Research roadmap

What is live, and what is still research.

Shorelife’s production forecast is narrow on purpose. Only fecal indicator bacteria risk is live today. The rest of this section is roadmap, not disguised feature scope.

Active

Fecal indicator bacteria

The live daily forecast estimates Enterococcus exceedance risk from official California sample history plus coastal and weather covariates.

Planned

Weather-forecast-driven risk

Planned. Wire forward-looking weather forecasts — precipitation, wind, solar radiation — directly into the bacteria forecast so the daily estimate reflects tomorrow's conditions rather than the last 24 hours of observations.

Planned

Additional bacterial indicators

Planned. Expand beyond marine Enterococcus to include freshwater E. coli, fecal coliform, and ddPCR-based source-tracking markers as supplementary public risk signals.
